Fossil turtle shell from the Kaiparowits Formation (Late Cretaceous) collected by the Raymond M. Alf Museum. Even though turtle shell, like this, is very commonly found, I’ll never get used to seeing the beautiful and intricate patterns on the surface. He bit off more than he could chew! This fossil is from the Green River Formation and is 50 million years old! The fossil itself is on display at the Raymond M. Alf Museum of Paleontology in Claremont, CA.
