Happy Sunday!
Apparently everything about that big football game—-“The Super Bowl”—-was horrible (Christina Aguilera forgetting the words to the National Anthem, The Black Eyed Peas halftime show)…except for one thing…
FINALLY a sneak preview for Spielberg’s new series “Terra Nova”.
A description from IMDB.com:
The series centers on the Shannons, an ordinary family from 2149 when the planet is dying who are transported back 85 million years to prehistoric Earth where they join Terra Nova, a colony of humans with a second chance to build a civilization.
First: Will it be any good? Fox seems to think so. Due to the projected expense of a pilot alone, Fox has taken a gamble by commissioning a series without seeing a pilot first.
Second: Who consulted on this project? Jack Horner (the Museum of the Rockies paleontologist who consulted for the Jurassic Park trilogy) supervised development of the dinosaurs to make them as exciting and accurate as possible. During initial development, he suggested that the series take place during the Paleocene. After all, if humanity wanted to get a fresh start, why try in a time full of things that could eat you? Makes sense to us, but Fox wanted a dinosaur show.
Third: What dinosaurs will we see? The trailer gives us glimpses of Brachiosaurus and what appears to be Carnotaurus chasing down a jeep. So, what else can we expect? Hopefully, it’s lots of new dinosaurs that haven’t been given a lot of screen time! Sources say that each episode might feature a new mesozoic beastie.
One thing’s for sure, we’re waiting with baited breath!
Peace out,
